Samsung receives three highest rankings in home appliances
Samsung Electronics received the highest customer satisfaction ranking in three categories in the annual J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Kitchen and Laundry Appliance Studies SM: the refrigeration category for the seventh year out of the last eight years, the dryer category for the fifth consecutive year and the washer category for the fourth consecutive year.
To arrive at the rankings, J.D. Power and Associates surveyed consumers who had purchased appliances in the past 24 months. Satisfaction is measured on a scale of 1,000 based on six factors: ease of use; features; performance and reliability; styling and appearance; warranty and price.
According to the study, Samsung earned a score of 807 points in the refrigeration category, 824 points in the washer category, and 822 points in the dryer category, about 40 to 50 points higher than market average points of each category.
Samsung helps busy families live smarter and more connected lives with high-capacity refrigerator designs that deliver the latest technology and food storage solutions. Samsung introduced the 32 cu. ft. French Door refrigerator, the largest in its class with enough room to hold up to 32 bags of groceries2 so mom can make fewer trips to the market. The brand also added the new Grocery Manager app to its WiFi-enabled LCD Refrigerators with apps to help consumers track the expiration time of perishables. This addition is a direct response to consumer feedback for more efficient ways to control the waste and cost of spoiled food. To further keep moms and kids organized, the brand also offers the customizable counter-height mid-drawer on its 4-Door models, which is easily accessible for kids and includes four temperature settings – meat/fish (29 degrees), cold drinks (33 degrees), deli/snacks (37 degrees), and wine (42 degrees). Other Samsung-exclusive features include Twin Cooling Plus System to help keep fruits and veggies fresher longer by using separate cooling systems in the fridge and freezer, and special insulation technology that offers up to 4 cu. ft. of extra space without increasing the exterior dimensions of the refrigerator.
Samsung is making the laundry process smarter and more efficient with the new Wi-Fi-enabled WF457 front-load laundry pair. Via an app and wireless router, consumers can remotely start, stop and pause the washer and dryer machines from their smart phones as well as check cycle status. Knowing that consumers desire top cleaning performance, Samsung has also equipped the WF457 washer with new SpeedSpray technology that reduces normal cycle time by up to 25 percent. For top-load lovers, Samsung has introduced the 4.5 cu. ft. king-size capacity High Efficiency Top Load Washer that does 2.4 laundry baskets full of clothes at a time, reducing the amount of time spent in the laundry room. Mom can also rest assured that her clothes are being gently washed by foam and water jets.
All Samsung washers and dryers feature Vibration Reduction Technology (VRT) which reduces noise and vibration to provide smooth operation at high spin speeds, even with unbalanced loads. Samsung also offers VentSensor in the dryer, which notifies consumers of lint blockages in the duct to prevent potential safety hazards, and ensure that the dryer is operating at optimal performance.
