‘Women Run The Show’ Documentary Spotlights Resilience in the Wake of Domestic Violence
Samsung Electronics Italy recently partnered with Telefono Rosa and famed director Maria Sole Tognazzi to help women who have suffered through domestic violence attain a fresh start.
The Women Run The Show initiative provided ten women with an opportunity to restore a measure of normalcy to their lives by following a personal passion and learning a new craft. A companion documentary, posted below, illuminates their stories and chronicles their respective journeys as they train to pursue their dreams.
“Women Run The Show is a project that I love very much because it’s more than just giving hope,” Tognazzi said. “It’s something concrete that will greatly impact people’s lives.”
“It’s great that Samsung has supported this project,” she continued, “because this is the kind of project that can really make a difference in our society.”
At the end of the project, they were asked to create, under Tognazzi’s guidance, a short video that represented their incredible stories. Featuring the powerful women themselves, the video – also available below – spotlights how talking about our problems and supporting one another can help us heal and ultimately overcome them.
