Dacor’s Modernist Collection Luxury Appliance Launch Spotlights Entertaining DiningShare open/close
In 2016, Samsung strengthened its appliance portfolio by acquiring premium home appliance maker Dacor. On March 15 at Samsung 837 in New York City, Dacor launched the new Modernist Collection, a full suite of sophisticated luxury appliances that champion the kitchen as a place to entertain, connect with friends and enjoy unforgettable meals.
Guests were welcomed by BK Yoon, President and CEO of Samsung Electronics, who began by discussing the collection’s contemporary design, connectivity and premium features, as well as the brands’ common commitment to innovation. “Samsung and Dacor share a legacy of innovation,” he explained. “A strong history of reimagining what our products can do and what sorts of experiences they can deliver.”
The subsequent video and panel discussion shed light on the kitchen’s evolving role, and demonstrated how Modernist appliances allow users to bring entertaining to the next level by fostering communal, connected and delicious dining experiences. Participants included Michael Magnani, Dacor’s Director of Product Marketing; Harry Choi, Samsung Design Center’s Vice President of Digital Appliances Design; Newell Turner, Editorial Director of Hearst Design Group and the panel’s moderator; as well as the actor Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, who served as hosts.
Following the discussion, guests were invited to get an up-close look at the full suite of appliances and mingle with their hosts over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
