Samsung Electronics Singapore unveiled its 2024 lineup of Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED and OLED TVs, as well as its latest sound systems at the Unbox & Discover 2024 Singapore launch. Held at the iconic Jewel Changi, the event saw over 50,000 visitors experience a new era of AI TVs. The company also set a record accredited by the Singapore Book of Records for the largest collection of used batteries after collecting 3,068 batteries from consumers over the two-day event. The record was part of Samsung Singapore’s initiatives to raise awareness for sustainability in partnership with the National Environment Agency.

[U.S.] Humans of Samsung: Openly and Honestly Embracing My Haitian Roots

When she was eight years old, Andree-Jenny Francois immigrated with her family from Haiti to New Jersey, where she struggled with assimilating into American society. She chose to drop her full first name to make her name easier for others to pronounce and mastered the English language at the cost of her native French fluency. Now an adult, Francois chooses to embrace her origins and identity. She has seen Samsung Electronics America become a more welcoming, diverse and inclusive space for the nine years she has worked there and feels free to express herself as a queer Haitian American woman of color.

[Germany] Samsung Galaxy Watch Users Explore the Solar System With Galaxy Time

Samsung Electronics has partnered with the European Space Agency (ESA) to launch Galaxy Time for the Samsung Galaxy Watch. Available March 31, this app allows device owners to customize their watch face with one of Earths seven neighboring planets, and displays the current time of each planet relative to Earths 24-hour system. Galaxy Time provides additional data about the solar system, such as the distance of each planet from the Sun, the number of moons orbiting each planet and the planets exact coordinates at any given time.

[Spain] Spanish Singer Xuso Jones Promotes Galaxy AI in FOOH Campaign

Samsung Electronics Iberia carried out its first Fake Out-of-Home (FOOH) advertisement campaign in collaboration with Spanish singer and influencer Xuso Jones and the content team of Publicis. Created to promote Galaxy AI, the campaigns video shows Jones shock when a giant Galaxy S24 Ultra phone magically pops out of a buildings vertical screen in Madrids Plaza de Callao to take photos of him. At that moment, the device rotates to show the viewers how the Galaxy S24 Ultra can quickly edit and enhance photos, powered by Galaxy AI.

[Latinoamérica] New Solve for Tomorrow Website Strengthens Teacher Network in Latin America

[U.S.] U.S. EPA Recognizes Samsung America as ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year

Samsung Electronics America has been honored with 2024 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Awards from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It was the only company to be recognized with two Sustained Excellence Awards this year, receiving one for outstanding contributions to protecting the environment with energy efficient products and another for achievements in operational energy efficiency. According to the EPA, a typical household can save up to $450 on their energy bills each year by choosing ENERGY STAR certified products.

[Sweden] Samsung and Marimekko Come Together for Lifestyle Accessories

Samsung Electronics is partnering with Finnish design house Marimekko to produce a line of Samsung Galaxy accessories, including smartphone cases, earbuds cases and watch bands. This is the next stage of Marimekko’s collaboration with Samsung, following a Samsung Art Store event in January celebrating the 60th anniversary of Marimekko’s iconic Unikko floral pattern. The collection of accessories sporting the distinctive pattern will be available starting in April.

[Vietnam] Six Samsung Manufacturers Enter Final Round of Samsung Vietnam Skills Competition

The final round of the second Samsung Vietnam Skills Competition was held from March 20 to 22 with 33 contestants from six of Samsung Vietnam legal entities competing in three skills: automation, JIG design and E-control System. The entities had three months to select their most outstanding contestants to participate in the final round. In the end, the top prizes went to Hoang Si Tien from Samsung Display Vietnam (SDV) for automation, Duong Xuan Thuy from SDV for JIG design and Vu Trong Nam from Samsung Electronics Vietnam Thai Nguyen (SEVT) for E-control System.

A prototype of a speech therapist robot that aims to solve speech impairments among children aged five to eight, with the help of AI, has won first prize for this year’s Solve for Tomorrow competition in Romania. [Malaysia] Samsung Malaysia Takes Over Largest Underground Interchange Station in Kuala Lumpur

Samsung Malaysia Electronics has collaborated with Kuala Lumpurs urban rail network to transform one of the citys largest underground interchange stations — the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) on the MRT Kajang Line — into the TRX Samsung Galaxy Station. The takeover integrates the Samsung Galaxy brand into a network of 29 stations that sees more than 220,000 daily commuters.
